Professional Pet Grooming in Fort Payne
Grooming is an important part of maintaining your pet’s overall health, not just their appearance. At Fort Payne Animal Hospital, we offer professional pet grooming to support skin and coat health while keeping your pet clean, comfortable, and glowing.
A clean coat is about more than just appearance or cleanliness. Regular grooming plays an important role in your pet’s overall health, not just how they look, but how they feel day to day. Regular grooming helps prevent common issues such as matting, excessive shedding, skin irritation, and infections. It also supports overall hygiene and comfort, particularly for pets with longer coats or those prone to skin sensitivities. Grooming appointments also provide a closer look at areas that are not always easy to monitor at home, such as the ears, nails, and skin beneath the coat.
Meet Our Groomer
Our grooming services are handled by Samantha Blansit. To schedule an appointment or get an estimate, call or text Samantha at 256-634-1479 — she’s available anytime. Samantha accepts cash tips and Venmo. Tips are not required but are very much appreciated!
Grooming Services We Offer Include:
- Bathing and coat cleaning to remove dirt, debris, and buildup
- Coat brushing and maintenance to reduce matting and shedding
- Nail trimming to support proper posture and mobility
- Ear cleaning to help reduce buildup and risk of infection
- Coat trimming and hygiene trims based on breed and coat type
- Basic skin and coat evaluation during grooming appointments
Each service is performed with attention to your pet’s comfort and tolerance level.
Grooming also provides an opportunity to identify subtle changes in your pet’s condition. Dry skin, redness, lumps, parasites, or ear issues may be noticed during routine grooming. Identifying these concerns early allows for follow-up care if needed and helps prevent more advanced issues from developing.
How Often Do Pets Need Grooming?
Pets vary in how often they need grooming based on their breed, coat type, and lifestyle. Some pets require regular maintenance to prevent matting and skin problems, while others benefit from occasional grooming to stay clean and comfortable. Environmental factors, such as outdoor activity and seasonal changes, can also impact grooming needs.
Because grooming is performed within a veterinary setting, adjustments can be made for pets with specific health concerns, sensitivities, or age-related needs. This allows for a more controlled and appropriate approach, especially for pets that may not tolerate standard grooming environments as well.
Routine grooming supports more than just appearance. Nail care helps prevent discomfort and joint strain, while ear care reduces the likelihood of infection. Coat maintenance improves air circulation to the skin and helps regulate temperature. These routine services contribute to long-term comfort and overall health when performed consistently.
Regular grooming plays a key role in maintaining hygiene, comfort, and skin health. A consistent grooming schedule helps support your pet’s well-being and makes ongoing care more manageable over time.

We had to take our sick boy in on a Sunday night. Doctor answered me and volunteered to meet me. We left our sweet boy which required surgery the next morning. He was a very sick guy and unfortunately we had to say goodbye the next day. But I wanna thank the staff for being so seeet to us and doc. You don’t know how much it meant to see the care in your eyes. We are broken but we definitely would trust him and this staff with any of our babies!Posted on Google![]()
