ORTHOPEDICS

SOFT TISSUE SURGERY

ORTHOPEDICS

We provide orthopedic procedures to address musculoskeletal issues in pets, such as fracture repair, ligament reconstruction, and joint surgeries.

Anesthesia Monitoring

We are proud to provide the safest available anesthetics to our patients. During the procedure, our Vet Techs and doctors monitor EKG, heart rate, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, respiratory rate, temperature, and end-tidal CO2 levels.

Surgical Protocols At Our Hospital Include:

Pre-surgical Assessments

We will confirm the specifics of the procedure, complete a physical examination of the patient, and make sure blood tests have been completed and reviewed by the vet in order to determine if your pet faces any risk of anesthesia-related complications.

Dedicated Surgical Suites

Surgeries are performed in a dedicated surgical suite. This room is kept completely sterile to prevent infection and cross-contamination.

Surgical Attire

Our staff wears disposable caps and masks at all times when they are in the surgical suite. Those involved in the procedure itself will also wear sterile gowns and single-use gloves.

Surgical Instrument Preparation

The Surgical Instruments that are used during our procedures are cleaned and sterilized using steam sterilization, which involves placing instruments in a surgical pack and exposing them to pressurized steam in an autoclave. To identify that our instruments are sterile, we use sterilization indicators within our packs to ensure that each instrument is properly ready for each procedure.

WE KEEP YOU FULLY INFORMED

We realize that having your pet undergo surgery can be stressful. That’s why:

  • We’ll explain your pet’s procedure to you in advance, step by step, so you fully understand what to expect
  • We’ll call or text you with a status report as soon as your pet is out of the operating room and in recovery
  • You can visit your hospitalized pet at your convenience, (we just ask that you call us first)
