Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at ftpayneah@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Other than a general exam and treatments we trim beaks, wings, and nails.

Yes, we strongly recommend making an appointment, as exotic exams do take more time, you are more likely to receive a more focused and tailored care for your pet. We still welcome walk-ins and will do our best to get through all the concerns about your pets health.

Exotic pets should have annual or bi-annual check-ups, depending on their species and health needs. For instance, reptiles may need more frequent visits to monitor their habitat conditions and prevent nutritional deficiencies, while birds might need more regular health checks due to issues like feather plucking or respiratory problems.

Bring your pet’s medical history, including any recent illnesses, symptoms, or behavioral changes. If possible, bring a sample of their food or any items related to their habitat (such as bedding, water, or tanks). For small mammals and birds, bringing them in a secure carrier or cage is essential for their safety during transport.

Yes, surgeries may include spaying or neutering, wound repair, or removal of tumors. If your pet requires surgery, make sure to ask about the recovery process and any specific aftercare that may be needed.
